Salamasina's lunch with the Principal ...
Salamasina's mum and dad came along to support the school at the Garden to Table fundraiser auction and won the lunch date with our lovely Principal Mrs Williams. Franny went along too as a special guest. Here they are heading off for what I am sure would have been a very chatty lunch.
Financial Literacy in Room 14
Following on from Captain Cashtastic last week Angela from the ASB came to talk more about money.
Our ideas for pocket money (it's all about helping others)
You could ask the children
Why we have money?
What does this $ mean?
Are notes worth more than coins?
Why do we save money?
What is a want?
What is a need?
Captain Cashtastic told us "You've got to speed to your needs and wait for your wants"
Captain Cashtastic told us "You've got to speed to your needs and wait for your wants"
Our ideas for pocket money (it's all about helping others)
- Clean mum's car inside and out
- Help around the house - washing, making our beds, putting out the rubbish , feeding and caring for our pets, empty the dishwasher, wash / dry the dishes, keep our bedrooms tidy, gardening, bringing in the mail.
- Selling our old toys and books on Trade Me or a garage sale with an adult to help?
We could save money we get for our Birthdays or Christmas
Sometimes we use cash and sometimes we use an eftpos card (we swipe these and the money comes out of our bank account). We need to have money in our account for the eftpos card to work so we need to save our money.
