Merit Certificate goes to Zudais

This afternoon Room 14 went to their first whole school assembly. We sit right up the front.
Zudais got the merit certificate for always dong his best and being a fantastic role model. Congratulations Zudais!

First Library visit ...

Today we went to the school library where our librarian Donna talked to us about what to do and NOT do while we are there.

This is where we place our shoes.

Here we are sitting in "the pit".  NO swinging on the bars or jumping in - we walked around quietly and sensibly - ka pai Room 14.

Donna took us for a tour and showed us the best places for us to look for books.

Best storyteller EVER! Mr Lyons in Room 6

'Today Room 14 went to meet Mr Lyons and the AWESOME children in Room 6. Mr Lyons read a story "The Ugly Duckling". We had a really great time - Ka pai Room 6 - we can't wait for you to come visit us.

Maori Language Week

 Importance of pronouncing Maori words correctly

This week is the 40^th Māori language week (Te Wiki o te reo Māori) and the theme is

 Whāngaia te reo ki ngā Mātua - Nurture the language in parents. 

"My name is Finnian Galbraith and I am a year 11 student at Kāpiti College. I wrote this speech initially for a speech competition in 2014 because I see this as a big issue and I believe it is very important that we take action. Thanks for watching!"
